The inner wall of the glass tube of this lamp is coated with a special phosphor that gives ultraviolet radiation with a peak wavelength around 365 nm. The violet light (BLB) is a fluorescent lamp made of special glass. It contains nickel-cobalt oxide and is deep blue-violet. It absorbs almost all visible radiation but transmits ultraviolet light.
